The Mineral County High softball team won a pair of home games on Saturday after falling to Round Mountain by one run in extra innings on the road last Tuesday.

Saturday saw the Lady Serpents avenge an 8-2 loss to Big Pine earlier in the month by winning both games of a double-header.

In the first game, Amanda Rivero took the mound for the home team, racking up four strike outs in the extra inning 14-13 win. Rivero also had three hits with a  walk as the leadoff batter and added an RBI.

Hailey Lahre led the Lady Serpents at the plate with five hits and six RBIs. Romey Hickman had four hits in the win, while Julieanne Williams added three. Claudia Benton finished with two hits, including the game winner in the eighth.Alexceah Emm also had four hits in the game and Kendal Williams finished with three.

Game two saw Kendall Williams take the mound for the Serpents, who struck out three in the Serpents 14-10 win.

Emm again had a hot bat as she tallied four hits and an RBI. McKenna Cardenas added an RBI single in the win.

The Lady Serpents are 5-2 on the young season and will take on the Nighthawks of Silver Stage on Saturday in a double-header beginning at 12 p.m.
