ski-and-snowboard

Members of the local 4H Ski and Snowboard Club made a trip to June Mountain in California on March 11.

On March 11, the 4H Ski and Snowboarding Club traveled to June Mountain Resort in California to enjoy the freshly powered slopes. Even though it snowed throughout the entire afternoon, it did not stop our six youth attendees from enjoying the mountain.

Many of the students had never experienced skiing or snowboarding on fresh snow and were thrilled to be a part of this adventure. This event could not have taken place without our volunteer, Ann Kee, who assisted with transportation and supervision of the students.

We greatly appreciate the YCAC making their bus available to aid in transportation and Great Basin Tire for insuring that it was safe for the trip. A huge thank you to Ernie’s Tackle and Ski Shop for providing our ski and snowboard rentals for the students and to June Mountain Resort for offering a discounted student lift ticket to each of our youth members.

The 4H Ski and Snowboarding Club is looking forward to future trips, hopefully before the snow melts.
