An early Sunday morning fight left two local women in jail in Hawthorne.

In a press release from Mineral County Undersheriff Bill Ferguson, a reporting party advised of four subjects fighting at the 76 Gas Station in Hawthorne at approximately 12:32 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Mineral County deputies responded to the call and after breaking up the fight, a deputy observed one adult female with a knife wound to her hand.

As a result of the injury, Jessenia Rodriguez was arrested for battery with a deadly weapon and open container. Her bail is listed at $50,195. Also arrested was Perly Coronado who is charged with battery and possession of paraphernalia. Bail for Coronado is $2,280.

As of press time, both remained in the Mineral County jail.

The Independent-News has been advised that the adult female who received the knife wound was treated for her injuries at the local hospital.

No further details were released by the sheriff’s office.
