19For the past five months, Kathy Trujillo and Fawn Cunha have voluntarily hosted a yoga class, called the Asana Alliance. The women have donated their time every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to hold yoga classes at the LDS Recreation Center, located on South A Street, near the Cooperative Extension Office. SOC Nevada LLC supports the class as a wellness activity for employees and has purchased mats and journals for the use of class members. There is no charge for the class.

This class is now open to the community (ages 13 and up) and everyone is invited to join in on the peace and relaxation of the teachings.

One of the class members, Shaniya Ferguson said, “There are many benefits that yoga offers. For example: stress and pain relief, strengthening and stabilizing your core and creating a center of balance in your body.” Ferguson and others enjoy the techniques that are offered at each class.
