VORRA racers were seen in the desert of Mineral County over the Memorial Day weekend during the 2015 Silver State Forklift Hawthorne 229.
Local entrant Tim Hall would place second in the UTV category completing all four laps in the daylong event.
Mineral County Convention and Tourism Authority sponsored the farthest away award which was presented to Darrell Johnson from British Columbia, Canada.
Greg Coppola, spokesman for VORRA said, “Thirty cars participated in the race. The drivers were appreciative of the support everyone in Hawthorne came them and look forward to next year’s race.”
The VORRA organization was supported by Mineral County Search & Rescue who manned intersections, Mineral County Sheriff Randy Adams and the El Capitan.
