The reopening of the H&R Block tax office, located at 960 E St. brought a new face to Hawthorne.
Dena Wiberg, a tax specialist from Reno, is available to help residents maneuver through the ever-changing tax codes so they can claim all the credits or deductions available. Wiberg confirmed that all previous records have been retained at this location, allowing previous clients an easy tax file again this year.
The public is invited to an open house on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. This will be a meet and greet, allowing clients to ask questions, set up appointments and meet the new staff.
Wiberg’s extensive background brings a ten year history of working for H & R Block and previous to this she worked 17 years as a tax server, accountant and bookkeeper. She is able to assist in multiple state filings, partnerships, large or small businesses and sees this office as a one stop shop.
Wiberg said, “For more than 60 years, H & R Block has delivered trusted tax advise in neighborhoods across the country. I consider it a privilege to come to Hawthorne and I look forward to assisting the residents here. I love the location and the friendliness in town.”

She gave a gentle reminder is that April 15, the filing deadline, is right around the corner.
