THANK YOU,

A great big thank you to our community, you have once again shown wonderful support for the Mineral County School District Book Fair. Your attendance enabled us to add to three school libraries, books that will hopefully engage and expand the minds of our students.

The fair cannot happen without lots of help. The following people were especially helpful: Toni Dodge; Shirley Bruderer; Mike McNeill; Oya Bryant; Gordon Gruderer; Sarah Blazewick; Eileen Birchum; Teri Arends; Spring Blazewick; Tom Gallegos (and crew); Agnes Dockery and John Dorschel.

In addition, we thank the school superintendent, Mr. Schultz and our school principals: Mr. Domagala; Ms. Keuhey and Mr. Hackford for encouraging their students and families to attend the fair. We also thank the El Capitan for their cookies and the Independent-News for printing articles and putting us on their calendar. We are grateful to one and all for stellar support.
See you next spring.

THANK YOU,

The Catholic Ladies Guild was blessed with beautiful weather and a fantastic turn-out for the annual Christmas Bazaar last Saturday. A steady stream of people flowed through the Hawthorne Convention Center all day, shopping and admiring the many creative and festive displays. Many took advantage of the delicious food offerings served from the kitchen. Families kept Santa’s Corner busy, as the young and the young-at-heart, sat on Santa’s knee. All anticipated the drawing at the end of the day when the three lucky winners of the all- cash raffle were drawn. Congratulations to Madeline Davis, Eugenia Kelley, and Nancy Darling, winners of the $500, $300, and $100 prizes.

The support the Ladies Guild received for this event was overwhelming. An event of this magnitude would not be possible without the time, effort, enthusiasm, and teamwork of dozens of people. Thanks to those who helped with the planning and organization of the bazaar; all who rented tables and offered their unique goods for sale; all who bought or sold raffle tickets; all who were involved in the baking, cooking, and serving of food; those who made the Santa Corner special; all who purchased and transported supplies; and finally, all who contributed to the success of the bazaar simply by attending.

Special thanks to Mike McNeil of the convention center, who facilitated our use of the building; Mineral County Independent-News for helping us with our advertising; and Tony Hughes and Wally Francis, who cheerfully gave their time in Santa’s Corner. We appreciate you all!

Ladies Guild Officers,
