12In an effort to help fight hunger in Mineral County, local Boy Scouts gathered to collect food on their annual food drive.

This year, the community donated over 1,400 pounds of non-perishable and canned items to the CAHS Food Bank, which goes to help those who are in our communities that are unable to put enough food on the table. Scouting for Food has been a long time tradition with the Mineral County Boy Scouts, who yearly give to CAHS right before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Even though the food drive was a success, the food bank still is in need of items. Canned meats, peanut butter, beans and vegetables are items that are requested regularly, but no donation will be refused.

If you have items that you would like to donate, please drop off at CAHS, 924 Fifth Street in Hawthorne.
