A quick response by a neighbor apprehended a group of youth who had the week previous, broken a window out of the vacant Video Express building on Main Street.

Unsure of who had thrown the first rock, residents began to keep an eye out for their neighbors, when the youth walked by the building and cast another stone, this time breaking the second window on the commercial building. The first, having been boarded up not yet a week.

A quick instinct allowed the neighbor to follow the group as they made their way down the street.

Undersheriff Steven McBride states, “This is a prime example of people policing their own neighborhoods. Without this neighbor watching and following the youth, another window possibly could have been broken.”

The youth were stopped and turned over to their parents. The building remains boarded up.
