On Saturday, Oct. 11 our Pop Warner football team went head to head with the Sparks Steelers as we hosted our first home game of the season. Even though our little guys were down 25 in the first half of the game they didn’t give up. In the last two minutes our quarterback, Katcher Millward ran in a 25 yard touchdown bringing the score 25-6 going into half time.
The second half was more promising for our Mighty Serpents. Sam Cromer had a 30 yard run on a kick return and was able to bust through the defensive line to sack the opposing team’s quarterback. Drake Spanier caught a few good passes from the quarterback and several tackles were made by Andrew Stinson, Cade Torres, Drake Spanier, Aidan Spanier, Preston Larramendy, and Cole Robinson. DeVayne Isom had an amazing 60 yard run for a touchdown bringing the final score to 43-12 Steelers.
It was a great game for our Mighty Serpents, they are doing a wonderful job. Our next game is at home on Saturday, Oct 19 at 1 p.m. at the MCHS football field.
