A yearly tradition will be celebrated on Saturday with the Kenny Bostic Memorial Youth Athletic Fund raffle and dinner. Beginning at 4:30 p.m. diners can begin filling up on a chicken alfredo dinner.

Food isn’t the only item on the menu. The Kenny Board has numerous raffle items including pellets, propane, wood and a freezer stocked full of meat up for raffle.

All money collected stays local. The fund is set up to help Mineral County youth who participate in sports activities. From shoes, to fees, to a college scholarship, the fund runs on donations only and events such as the dinner and raffle help to support those children whose parent’s may have financial hardships.

Named after Mineral County resident Kenny Bostic, who was killed in Iraq, the fund is set up in his memory but created to keep the dreams of children alive. Through sports, children are able to put aside their social situations and become part of a “team” effort.

Dinner will be served at the Elk’s Lodge, all are welcome. Stop by, grab a bite to eat and purchase a raffle ticket. You quite possibly may be going home with a freezer full of goodies.
