On Sept. 19 an inert Anti-Submarine Rocket with a dummy nuclear warhead was placed at the entrance of the Hawthorne Elementary School.

The school is known as the Rockets and their new mascot was provided by the Hawthorne Ordnance Museum (HOM) with delivery and placement by SOC.

The project was initiated by Principal Stephanie Keuhey and was coordinated through Peter Papadakas, Curator and Harold Warner of the museum.
