The death of a female black bear has prompted two wildlife groups to offer at $3,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who illegally killed the bear in the East Walker River area.
Earlier this summer, the radio-collared bear was shot and killed, sometime around the weekend of July 18-19 near the Flying M Ranch. She was killed prior to the opening of bear season in Nevada.
NoBearHuntNV and Nevadans for Responsible Wildlife Management have posted the reward and its payout will be handled through the Nevada Department of Wildlife’s Operation Game Thief program. To report details of the killing of this bear, please contact Operation Game Thief at 1-800-992-3030. Reporting parties are kept confidential.
It was probably those crazy-ass, wanna be cowboys that work at the 9 mile ranch house . One of them chased a group of us for 10 miles on the dirt road leading from their ranch house to Yerington at 70 miles per hour, while he was towing a horse trailer WITH a horse in it. The only reason we didn’t stop was because we had 2 children in the truck. They destroyed our campsite at Dead Coon while we went into town for supplies, and spray-painted all our equipment. They put traps on Lucky Boy near their ranch house that will blow out tires (I had 2 flats at once on 3 different occasions) They think they own the world and there are no consequences to whatever they do since they’re so far from town and the law. . One of these days ,they’re gonna tangle with the wrong bunch of fishermen or campers, or hunters, and it’s not going to end well. Whatever you do, anyone who has to drive past that ranch house and creek crossing, don’t look at anyone, don’t say anything to anyone, and ride your brakes all the way through, ’cause if you go over 2 mph, they’ll go ballistic and chase after you and do who knows what if they catch you or if you stop. DON”T STOP ! P.S….I read a while back that UPS won’t go out there ever again because they fired at a driver they considered was driving too fast through their little world.
