Thank You,

The Dogs Gone Wild Pool Party was a hit with local dogs and their families.  The event was sponsored by the Drug Free Communities Committee and the Coalition of Hawthorne.  Special thanks to Sarah Dillard, Morgan Price and Karen Boyles for life guard services and Barb Owens with Parks and Recreation for allowing the event to be held at the local pool. Hot dogs and refreshments were enjoyed by dogs and people alike.  Proceeds will be used to sponsor events for the youth of our community in the upcoming months.

Thank You,

On behalf of the YCAC, I would like to thank our community for the very generous support of our new football and cheer program.

My staff and volunteers have now turned the seven and nine year old tackle football team into a Pop Warner league. I am so proud of them for their outstanding hard work to make this possible. There will be a Pop Warner board selection meeting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19 at the JPO building located at 525 W. 9th Street. Without all of our volunteers and community support these programs for our kids would not be successful.

With Deepest Gratitude,

Barb Owens, Mineral County Recreation Coordinator
YCAC Director

Thank You,

Thank You! We would like to thank all those involved who made this year’s 9/11 Mt. Grant Memorial Challenge possible. Lt. Col. Gibbons for allowing access on Mt. Grant, the organizers who coordinated this event, the sponsors and all individuals who volunteered their time to help the hikers with whatever they needed along the way. You were all amazing.

This was such a worthwhile event and left us with memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank You,

A thank you shout out to Larry Grant for our four extra dumpsters during the spring and summer months for the Rose Garden and sending the dumping crew to double dump so we could do it all over again the next day.

We appreciate the time and effort you all have put in helping with our time and effort.

Much Thanks,

Thank You,

The Substance Abuse Awareness Committee (SAAC) would like to thank Sheriff Stewart Handte and his wife, Cheri for their donation. Their donation will help us to continue to educate our youth against the devastating effects of substance abuse.
