Jessie R. Heinz

Jessie Heinz, age 98, died July 9, 2014 at the Homestead Senior and Memory Care Community in Fallon.
She was born January 15, 1916 to Victor and Victoria (Urrutia) Rubianes in Paradise Valley, Nevada. The family later moved to Grass Valley Ranch and the Kingston Canyon Ranch before settling in Fallon in 1928. Jessie attended Oats Park School and graduated from Churchill County High School in 1935. In 1937, Jessie married Edward Heinz and they lived for several years near Winnemucca. Their daughter, Judy, was born in 1946. The family moved to the Babbitt/Hawthorne area in 1950 and lived there until Ed’s death in 1983. Jessie moved to Fallon until 1997 when she relocated to Winnemucca. After her daughter’s death she returned to Fallon in 2001.
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and daughter. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
A rosary and viewing will be held at Smith Family Funeral home on Monday, July 14, at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on Tuesday, July 15, at 10 am. Burial will follow in the family plot at the Churchill County Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Churchill County Library or the Churchill Association for Retarded Citizens.
