Thank You,

As President of Hawthorne Little League, I cannot begin to express the thanks that I have to offer to the following people that helped create new memories for the 2014 Hawthorne All Star Team.

Lloyd Brown, thank you for everything that you did with this team. You were the 4th coach, you were the one there for the morning practices, you were there as much as everyone else and deserve to be recognized.

Dale & Teresa McNally, thank you so much for getting all of the groceries and transport them to Ely to help feed the kids while in Ely, everyone said the BBQ was great, I just wish I didn’t have a 2.5 hour meeting that night.

Stephanie Wright, for organizing food situations and keeping an eye on all the kids in the pool.

Tina Nelms, for getting up on game day and making the breakfast burritos for all of the players and parents.

Michael & Erin, thank you for everything that you offered to the players and adults in Ely. It was great to have you there and you guys did more than we can possibly even thank you for.

Jaime Cardenas, there is just too much to thank you for. Not only did you help with getting everything, believe it or not, you were the one that kept me sane in some instances.

Jay Jean Bales, you’re laundry skills are amazing. Anyone that can get the red dirt out of those pants and make them look new again should be commended.

Nicole, thanks for giving up the last 3 months of your life so Kyle could coach. It was great to have you in Ely, knowing that everything was in good hands.

Jessie & Roxanne, for keeping an eye on the kids and being with them on game day, and most of all, keeping Elijah here for this memory.

I would also like to thank the following people for making the 4 hour trip or just coming to support the Hawthorne All Star Team. Pat & Don Fisk, Kyle & Heather Reuter, Chaz Foster, John Rubert, Aaron Bouch, Shawn & Melissa Isom, Kathy Brown, Tyran Greenwood, Beatrice Nelms, Mason Kovacs and all of the kids.

Kyle Isom, Jeff Nelms, Tony Nelms, you guys took this team and dedicated 2 weeks of your life to these boys. I have no doubt that you guys were the right guys to lead this team. You can prepare for everything on the baseball level, but you can’t prepare for the nerves that the team is going to experience. I don’t question any decision that any of you made and felt that the entire tournament was coached with expertise.

Last but not least, Griffen Inman, Alex Palacios, Payton Isom, Tyler Blankenship, Ethan Nelms, Damein Hernandez, Jean Naranjo, Tony Torres, Seth Bozzi, Elijah Schulenberg, Treven Wachsmuth, Tony Dominguez and Gavin Burroughs. Thank you for your commitment to this town for the time that you did. To all the 12 year olds, we will have baseball for you in between Little League and High School next year. To the 11 year olds, keep working and look forward to next year. Thank you for being a part of rebuilding Hawthorne, NV into a baseball town. Trust me, this won’t be the biggest loss of your career, you have to learn to move on from the losses to make more victories. Everything is a learning experience.  Always remember, Hawthorne breeds baseball players.

Sincerely,

Jason Cardenas
