Round Mountain Youth Baseball League visited Hawthorne for the 2nd Annual Armed Forces Baseball Classic to play a scrimmage

Round Mountain Youth Baseball League visited Hawthorne for the 2nd Annual Armed Forces Baseball Classic to play a scrimmage/practice game against a Hawthorne team picked by local coaches.

Ethan Nelms led the attack for the Hawthorne team as he pitched  three perfect innings to start the game and hit a two- run homer. Elijah Schulenberg went 3-4 with 4 RBI’s in the game. 

The Hawthorne team included ages 9-12. Team members included Josh Chavarin, Elijah Schulenberg, Damien Hernandez, Ethan Nelms, Gavin Burroughs, Ryan Jaramillo, Tony Dominguez, Treven Wachsmuth, Drake Spanier, Griffin Inman, Julio Alvarez, Alex Palacios, Tony Torres, Glenn Reeves, Tyler Blankenship, Isiah Chavarin and Jean Naranjo.

Bayek Davis had the only hit for Round Mountain while Holly Pennington  threw some 70 pitches and striking out 5 of the Hawthorne hitters in the Round Mountain effort.

Hawthorne would like to send a huge thank you out to the team, coaches and parents from Round Mountain that came down to our facilities. Hawthorne looks to continue this series with Round Mountain, which will include Hawthorne Little League playing in Round Mountain.

Hawthorne Little League hopes the Armed Forces Classic, will schedule two games for the weekend on Friday and Saturday afternoons.
