The Ramirez Group, a community outreach firm in Las Vegas, is working with Nevada Health Link, the state’s new insurance marketplace, to provide enrollment assistance to any Nevadan without health insurance and looking for affordable plans.

Carolina Chacon, an associate of the Ramirez Group says the group is holding a special meeting at the Mineral County Public Library Saturday, March 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help anyone interested in enrolling in health insurance through the Nevada Health Link or wants to learn more about how the new health care law affects them.

“We are trying to make sure that enrollment assistance is available to rural Nevada people everywhere,” Chacon said.

Chacon suggested Hawthorne residents who can’t make it to the meeting, yet still desiring assistance, can attend future meeting scheduled in either Winnemucca or Fallon.

The Fallon meeting is at the JobConnect on 121 Industrial Way on March 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Winnemucca meeting is located at 475 W. Haskell in Suite #1. The meeting date is March, 15, and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chacon added that people can also call the Ramirez Group with questions at 702.530.5249 or 702.982.2900 or visit the group’s website at http://ramirezgroup.com/.

Chacon did say that people are free to sign up for health care on their own, but many have questions, or just plain difficulty navigating the site.

“The process can be complicated and confusing. The Nevada Healh Care website hasn’t always worked the way we needed it to and that’s why we offer enrollment assistance to help people through the process.”

Certified Enrollment Assisters will answer questions, address issues and help people learn about the different health options now available. This assistance is offered at no cost.
