On Aug. 27, Harry Reid (D-NV) announced nearly $6 million in grants for rural Nevada airports. Mineral County received the largest share of the funding, more than $2.7 million.

The money will be used by the airport to update the fuel system and the apron, the area where airplanes are parked so they can be refueled, boarded and loaded or unloaded.

A representative from Armstrong Consulting, the Colorado consulting firm working on the project, said the construction would take a few weeks.

The exact details of the construction are still unclear.
